1. Make sure that whatever you design is fitting a need in the world and has a purpose
2. Design is everyone’s job. It takes a commitment from everybody in the company.
3. Design should do the same thing in everyday life that art does when encountered
4. It is important to confine user interactions to appropriate complexity
5. Designers must deliver not just beautification, but substantial change
